His record of non-success while US Ambassador to the UN is pathetic; he accomplished nothing of any lasting value. Clearly, he was wrong about who would be elected SG. As much as I personally would like the UN to be successful at something, it has never been successful at asssiting the peace process in even the medium term. It has been up to Britain and her colonies (with our colony taking the lead for the last 60 years, bringing at least the promise of self-determination to hundreds of millions of people) to solve any problems. To assert that the UN Security Council will do ANYTHING effective to halt the threat of nuclear holicost in the Middle East perpetrated by Iran is ludicrous on its face. Holbroke and his ilk have and will continue to kill and enslave millions should they have their own way. Intentionally? I don't think so.
